Lee Yeong came out from behind the folding screen wearing a dry dark robe, although the speed with which he had changed was obvious from the uneven collar and the sash sitting slightly crooked around his waist. His hair was still damp from the hot spring, several strands sticking against the back of his neck, but he made no attempt to dry it before walking toward Yeon Joo. She had expected him to take the cushion opposite her and continue explaining what had happened, perhaps repeating that Concubine Seo had entered without permission until she finally told him she believed him, yet Lee Yeong did not even look toward the empty cushion.
He came around the low table and lowered himself directly onto his knees in front of her.
