Aunt Wang didn't hold back: "Aren't you going to do anything?"
Aunt Su replied softly, "They're a young couple. They'll fight and make up. There's no need for me to interfere. I'm just a mother, and I can't control everything. I'm tired and need to go home to rest."
She hadn't rested at all last night, and now that the trouble had finally left, she headed straight home.
Her behavior left everyone speechless. They had never seen anything like it.
Aunt Su entered her house, closed the door behind her, and stumbled to the kang (a heated bed). She lay down, cursing bitterly, "You heartless people."
The neighbors exchanged glances, unsure of what to do. Someone finally spoke up, "Should we follow them or not?"
"Follow what? We have work to do."
"Oh, right."
It was Monday, after all. They couldn't just skip work to watch the drama unfold.
Aunt Wang: "I'll go to the neighborhood committee. This matter needs to be reported."
