Chapter 12 - Mission so possible turning to Mission so impossible

"Please don't worry, Young Master. We, the butlers of the King's Library, fully understand the nature of our work, whether it involves attending to our guests, maintaining the King's Library, or managing the entire King's Hotel. We understand that intoxicated guests may sometimes act recklessly without realizing what they're doing. As butlers, we are professionally trained to handle such situations," the butler reassured Lau Mei.

"Well, I'm still sorry for behaving so recklessly and for all the trouble I caused," Lau Mei apologized sincerely.

"Don't worry, Miss Lau Mei," the butler whispered in a low voice, just loud enough for her to hear.

Lau Mei was about to stand up from her seat when she heard what the butler had just called her.

She immediately froze, wondering how the butler knew her true identity.

"I'm sorry, but I believe you've mistaken me for someone else. You must have meant Miss Lau Mei," she replied, trying to conceal her shock.

The butler suddenly straightened up, gracefully stepped out of the cubicle, and leaned closer to Lau Mei.

"No secret can remain hidden under the roof of the King's Hotel or within the walls of the King's Library..."

He paused before leaning closer to her ear and whispering,

"Not even the identity of a lady disguising herself as a man."

After delivering those words, the butler stepped back, smiled as though nothing unusual had happened, bowed politely, and walked away.

Lau Mei remained seated, completely dumbfounded.

Meanwhile, back in Zhang Wei and Lu Ting's hotel room, Zhang Wei was standing in front of the window while Lu Ting was kneeling on the floor.

Zhang Wei was in such a foul mood that Lu Ting felt as though the temperature in the room had dropped several degrees.

Desperate to lighten the atmosphere, Lu Ting tried to start a conversation.

"Hehe... Why don't we go out for a while?" Lu Ting suggested, still trying to figure out his friend's mood.

"Well, that sounds like a good idea. After all, my mission, which was supposed to be so simple, has turned into Mission Impossible," Zhang Wei replied emotionlessly.

Although his expression remained unreadable, the irritation in his voice was unmistakable.

Lu Ting immediately sensed that his friend was suppressing his anger.

"Hehe... Well, you didn't get to meet the girl your mother arranged for you, but at least you made a good friend in Mr. Lau... Right?" Lu Ting tried to bring out the positive side of the situation, hoping to distract Zhang Wei from his terrible mistake.

Still facing the window, Zhang Wei held his glass of water and began listing everything that had gone wrong.

"Handling all these failures and unexpected discoveries has been quite an experience. First, my plan to sabotage the date my mother arranged for me failed miserably. To make matters worse, my date didn't even show up!"

Zhang Wei couldn't help feeling disappointed that his intended date had never arrived.

"Second, being a beautiful lady is nice, but the treatments I had to endure were practically torture! Still, I have to admit that the results were worth it."

As he recalled everything he had gone through, Zhang Wei felt a sense of accomplishment. Surviving those painful beauty treatments was no small achievement.

His eyes began to water as he remembered the ordeal, but he quickly suppressed his emotions.

"Third, I've learned that wherever there's a beautiful lady, there's always some lurking beast waiting to prey on her!"

Zhang Wei tightened his grip on his glass before continuing.

"That experience was incredibly humiliating, but at least it taught me an important lesson about how women deserve to be treated—with respect."

He paused for a moment before adding,

"Being a lady is difficult, especially when there are men who think with what's between their legs instead of their brains!"

Zhang Wei couldn't help remembering the drunk gentleman who had repeatedly touched his buttocks. Just thinking about the incident made him feel embarrassed all over again.

Meanwhile, Lu Ting was beginning to realize that he was in serious trouble.

"Fourth, a damsel in distress will always awaken a man's Prince Charming instincts... Just like that Mr. Lau!"

Zhang Wei gave a mischievous smirk as he remembered how Mr. Lau had rescued him.

However, his expression suddenly changed as he continued with the next lesson.

"Fifth, never drink beyond your limits. Otherwise, you'll end up forgetting your original purpose!"

He massaged his temple as he recalled the drinking session, of which he could barely remember anything.

"Sixth, and most importantly, when you're disguised as a lady and staying in a hotel room, ALWAYS CHECK THE PEEPHOLE BEFORE OPENING THE DOOR!"

As Zhang Wei delivered those words, he slowly turned his head and body toward Lu Ting, who was still kneeling on the floor.

His expression grew darker with every passing second.

He tightened his grip on the glass while trying to endure the pain in his already sore buttocks.

"Oh! I almost forgot to add something to number six..."

He paused dramatically before shouting at the top of his lungs.

"NEVER OPEN THE FREAKING DOOR WHEN YOU'RE THE ONE WHO'S KNOCKING!!!"

Zhang Wei finally lost his temper.

"W-Well, m-maybe your auntie anticipated something like that..." Lu Ting stammered, growing increasingly nervous after witnessing his friend's sudden outburst.

"You think so?"

Zhang Wei tried to calm himself down, but his grip on the glass tightened.

"If that really happened, then you're the only person I can blame for it. RIGHT?"

He emphasized the final word while glaring at Lu Ting.

"N-No! I didn't do that!" Lu Ting immediately protested.

He didn't know whether he should laugh, cry, or beg for his life.

"Then how do you explain Mr. Lau noticing you hiding like a paparazzo and secretly recording me while I was dancing?" Zhang Wei demanded.

"Uh... Well, I-I..."

Lu Ting began sweating profusely as he desperately searched for a convincing excuse.

"What's the reason, Lu Ting?" Zhang Wei asked in an intimidating tone.

"W-Well, I recorded that video because I wanted to show it to you after the party. I thought you might want to show it to Shanxi Meihua as well..."

Lu Ting felt as though his entire spine were sweating. His friend was smiling, but that smile looked more like the evil grin of a villain plotting someone's downfall.

"Well, all right. I'll believe you..."

Zhang Wei paused before continuing with an ominous grin that sent chills down Lu Ting's spine.

"But I have a task for you. However, this one will require your full participation. Are you willing to take it on?"

Zhang Wei crouched down to Lu Ting's level, resembling a scheming villain plotting his next move.

"U-Uh... Y-Yes! I'll do anything to prove that I'm innocent! But if I manage to prove you wrong, you'll have to show up in front of Auntie wearing a dress!"

Lu Ting had been hesitant at first, but he eventually gathered enough courage to make his counterproposal.

He could practically feel the temperature dropping around him as Zhang Wei's sinister grin widened.

It was clear that he had only one option but to agree. He was willing to prove his innocence just to clear his name and put an end to his friend's suspicions.

However, deep down, he couldn't shake the feeling that something terrible was about to happen—something that might very well put an end to his peaceful life.

"All right, good. Now, call Shanxi Meihua. I want to talk to her," Zhang Wei instructed calmly.

Lu Ting immediately called Shanxi Meihua and handed the phone to Zhang Wei.

Zhang Wei cleared his throat, adjusted his voice, and activated his feminine voice.

Meanwhile, at the salon...

"Good morning, Miss Shanxi. This is Lady Zhang. I'm currently staying at the King's Hotel, and I'd like to request a makeover here. I would also like to order a three-piece suit tailored to my measurements, along with at least two dresses that would fit me perfectly. Would that be possible?"

Zhang Wei spoke so politely and elegantly that anyone listening would have mistaken him for a well-mannered young lady.

Lu Ting couldn't help wondering how Zhang Wei could switch to his feminine voice so effortlessly.

However, what surprised him even more was how naturally Zhang Wei carried himself like a prim and proper lady, even though Shanxi Meihua couldn't see him.

"Lady Zhang, there will be additional charges for providing our services outside the salon. However, since you're practically our finest masterpiece, I'll gladly give you a special discount!" Shanxi Meihua replied enthusiastically.

She was delighted to hear that Zhang Wei wanted another makeover.

Shanxi immediately clapped her hands to get the attention of her stylists.

"All right, girls and boys! We have an on-site appointment at the King's Hotel, so get your equipment ready!"

Her announcement immediately caught the stylists' attention.

"Miss Shanxi, may we ask why you're so excited?" the gay stylist asked curiously.

"Well, we're going to give someone a makeover at the King's Hotel. And guess who's requesting our services?"

Shanxi Meihua grinned from ear to ear as she addressed her team.

"Wait... Don't tell me it's... Lady Zhang?!" the gay stylist exclaimed excitedly.

"Yes! It's him!" Shanxi Meihua replied.

"Oh! That's wonderful! At least he doesn't want to go out without looking beautiful!" the female stylist happily remarked.

Suddenly, the male stylists began gathering their equipment. However, what they brought out was enough to make even Shanxi Meihua feel a little terrified.

"Then let's go! It's time to give our precious doll another beautiful makeover!"

The male stylist grinned from ear to ear while holding a bundle of scissors and duct tape.

The sight of his terrifying smile, combined with the unusual collection of tools in his hands, sent chills throughout the entire salon.
