Somewhere amidst the mountains-
"It's finally over…"
The words escaped like a collective sigh, thin and hoarse, as if even breathing too loudly might offend the existence above the skies that had only just receded. The people gathered on the mountain ridge slowly raised their heads after staring at the skies for far too long, their necks stiff, their eyes burning.
Dark clouds still lingered, torn and tattered, as though clawed apart by something violent. Faint traces of crimson-negative lightning flickered within them before dying out completely, leaving behind an eerie, unnatural calm.
The pounding in their chests finally slowed, but the trepidation had been etched in their hearts.
"What kind of tribulation was that…?"
Someone muttered, voice trembling despite their attempt to sound casual.
No one answered immediately.
"A new kind…" Myria said as she turned to look at Wix Voidfield, "One that only he could bring about."
