How long has it been since Helgen? Jon couldn't really remember, but the World Eater and the Last Dragonborn had never crossed paths since that day.

The game had Alduin appear on a few occasions before the big finale; most of them were when he was resurrecting the dragons across Skyrim. However, Jon didn't wander much since he returned to Skyrim and was mostly teleporting and working all day.

But after more than two years since his attack on Helgen, Alduin was done hiding in Sovngarde and finally emerged on the day the War Dragons Cult attacked Winterhold. And so we arrive at now.

And it was a horror to behold.

The people of the hold who were standing on the walls knew that it was high time to escape, that this fight, no matter how critical it was to their lives, was something they were not supposed to witness.

It was Alduin, and he came to sow ruin and destruction.

For the firstborn of Akatosh, Alduin was a behemoth, even larger than the time when he appeared over Helgen. Behind him came the storm, and in the storm there was fire, and in the fire was a rain of stone and a hail of molten rocks.

The land burned as the Beast of the Apocalypse descended fast towards Winterhold, and the glaciers that had withstood the test of time since the age of Ysgramor were melting and deforming.

Jon cursed at the sight of the Black Dragon descending from heaven with hell following him and knew that Alduin never showed up for anything other than death and destruction. The World Eater went out of his way and came to harvest the souls of the living all by himself.

Seeing that, Jon tried to disengage with Kungosvern and rush towards the city of Saarthal to activate its prototype wards, but Kungosvern immediately got in.

"Alduin, drog. Pentaar joor wo vogahvon dovah thun." (Alduin, my Lord. Punish the mortal who defies the dragons' reign.)

"FUCK OFF!"

On the other hand, Jon immediately cast a blast of raw Magicka in order to push away his opponent, who used the same trick of switching forms between its bodies to attack Jon from the back.

While the female Kungosvern was behind Jon and the male one was in front of him, the dragon form moved from the female to the male, who was best at tackling Jon. But when the Dragonborn immediately cast magic, Kungosvern gained more confidence in the durability of the male form and switched the dragon form to the female in order to attack Jon from the back. However, it was exactly what Jon was aiming for.

The raw Magicka blast was nothing but a distraction, as raw Magicka was great at disturbing any detection ability for a short period of time. The male Kungosvern wouldn't detect any attack hiding behind that blast, but the female, on the other hand, would detect it.

So when Jon threw the Spear of Bitter Mercy right after sending out the blast, the dragon form returned to the male form immediately to provide it protection against the lethal spear.

However, that's where Jon was playing on reverse psychology.

The spear he launched was a mere illusion, but as it was near the Magicka blast, it was impossible to discern whether it was real or not at just a glance. This left the female form completely unprepared for an attack from the real spear coming from the shadow beneath her.

"ARGH!"

Nefertiti's human form held the spear from behind Kungosvern's female form and raised her up by pure strength before pinning her to the ground.

The two forms of Kungosvern felt the pain of being injured for the first time in forever. As one of the most powerful Daedric artifacts ever, the spear only allowed very few people to wield it aside from its main holder, Isha.

Jon was one; Nefertiti was another. After all, her human form came from Hircine himself, the Lord of the Hunt.

The female Kungosvern was in a critical condition, and the male was stunned. Jon could finally break away and bolt towards the city. He teleported a few short distances to hasten his approach, as long-range teleportation to that distance would slow him down to cast the spell, and then he saw it: Alduin was plummeting from the sky like a meteorite, leading in his tail a larger meteor shower, and he was hell-bent on killing every living thing in the city.

The essential protection wards around the town started to glow in the shape of a spherical dome, but Jon knew they wouldn't be enough. He needed to activate the experimental ones as well, and he also needed to be there in order to deflect the impact personally.

No matter what he used, Jon felt like he wouldn't make it in time. He could only pray for anyone inside the tower to immediately power up those extra defenses in time, but that sliver of hope kept waning and waning.

But then...

"I'll do you a favour this once."

Jon could swear that he heard someone speaking right behind him, and in a split second, the scenery in front of him changed dramatically.

What was seen as a meteor shower that was aimed down to devour the entire world beneath it was a being influenced by something unfathomable. Jon could see the fiery rocks flicker softly as they started to turn into something else entirely.

Rock turned to water, and fire turned to ice.

A scene of myth and magic that only existed in the legends of the Gods. Those who could reshape the world, those who could defy the order of the world and envision their own will upon it.

The dreamers inside the dream, the powers that be, the Nobles of the Tower, the Watchers of the Wheel.

The Ada.

The Dragon of the End of Times was stopped from bringing an apocalypse upon Saarthal, and he landed on top of Anthor. Facing him was a White Woman in a white dress. Her eyes were white, her eyelashes were white, and her skin was also white.

Those who looked at her—how she fluttered mid-air, how she made storms and snow, how she was so cold yet so beautiful at the same time—would mistake her for Mother Skyrim, for Kyne of the Hawk.

But she was not Kyne. She was not someone any human would feel divinity or kinship with. In contrast, looking at her long enough would unnerve any man, for all the white she was, her eyes were red with terrible hunger.

She was a vampire. She was a goddess. She was death incarnate.

Alduin looked at her with suspicion and grunted in anger.

Words were exchanged between the two, and just as Jon was rushing up the mountain, Alduin took to the sky and left.

As for the White Woman, she simply waited for Jon on top of the mountain and had a gentle smile on her face. Once she saw Jon approaching her, radiating with power and displaying immense hostility, she shook her head and let out a sigh.

Of course, the first thing he asked would be:

"Who are you?"

He stood a safe distance from her, and his fist was clenched, ready for all manners of combat.

This unidentified woman was someone he didn't account for or even know. She was not from the game; she was in a whole different dimension of existence.

She was not just CHIM. She was Amaranth. She assimilated with the world and possessed the strength of the Gods.

Asking who she was was just the tip of a really long and unorganized string of questions Jon had in his mind.

And then she replied:

"I heard you have two mothers," she said with a vibrant smile on her face. "Don't you wish for a third?"
