The web was built before he arrived.

Aldric Voss was never supposed to be remarkable.
The only heir to a dying noble house in a forgotten
landlocked territory, he was expected to bow gracefully
to ruin — sign the papers, surrender the land,
disappear into obscurity like his father before him.
They did not know where he came from.
They did not know what he carried.
They did not know that behind the warm smile of a
grieving nobleman's son lived a mind trained in systems,
leverage, and the one truth that gods and merchants
both prefer to keep buried —
All power is debt.
And debt can be called in.
But the Vethran Guild did not build their empire
in one territory. Their web stretches across kingdoms,
across courts, across generations. And somewhere above
the mortal game, something ancient is watching Aldric
move his pieces with an interest that has nothing
to do with gold.
He was not reincarnated by accident.
He was sent.
The only question is — by whom.
And whether he will still be their instrument
when he finds out why.
