Knife of Fall This is the story of Malay Bellerophon. This is the story of a knife learning how to fall. A knife is made to be held. A knife is made to be swung. Malay Bellerophon was once Number 52—a nameless child raised in the Temple of Knives, beaten, bled, and trained to serve a god he never chose. He escaped only after learning the only lesson the temple ever truly taught him: A knife exists to kill. Then came the Scourge. A strange organization of rebels, scholars, swordsmen, and idealists who took the broken child in and prepared him for a single purpose—to enter the Imperial College of Aegis and eventually kill a high priest. Simple. Or so Malay thought. Now, adopted into a fallen noble house and travelling toward Aegis, Malay finds himself haunted by things he cannot explain. A ghost lives inside his mind. He dreams of a golden city where gods bleed beneath the sword of a mortal conqueror. He dreams of a prince. He dreams of a child. And sometimes, he dreams of himself.
