At the same time, Elira Vance, a young but ambitious journalist, begins chasing whispers of a forbidden manuscript known as The Ferryman’s Ledger — a book said to predict the deaths of those whose names appear in its pages. Her pursuit of the story drags her into the labyrinth of Ardenthall’s forgotten streets, revolutionary circles, and occult societies.
And in the secluded Whitethorn Monastery, Brother Ilven discovers the same sigil carved into a centuries-old scroll — a sign linked to a sect erased from history and a prophecy that has already begun to unfold. His faith is tested as the line between divine truth and forbidden knowledge blurs.
