Mario Richter, a 45-year-old manga fanatic from Hamburg, Germany, thought his life had ended the night he read the controversial final chapter of One Piece. Heartbroken, furious, and betrayed by the story that shaped his life, he steps out for a smoke — and then plummets from his apartment balcony.
But instead of dying, Mario wakes up in the middle of the ocean… in the world of One Piece.
Rescued by none other than Monkey D. Luffy himself, Mario finds himself aboard Luffi's first ship— younger, stronger, and somehow alive in a world he once only read about. With no idea how or why he got here, Mario is thrust into a crew of living legends, where his knowledge of their journey clashes with the unpredictability of real life.
As he struggles to earn a place among the Straw Hats, Mario is appointed an unexpected role: Quartermaster, tasked with organizing supplies, managing logistics, and keeping the chaos of the crew (barely) under control. But he soon discovers that this world isn’t quite how the manga portrayed it… and some events are unfolding differently than they should.
Can a lifelong fan rewrite his own story while sailing with the crew he always dreamed of joining?
