Seven years after the world ended in fire and blood, seventeen-year-old Kairo wanders the wastelands alone, surviving off instinct, scraps, and the whisper of an old promise. His only companion is a fox-faced mask—half-blind, half-magic—granting him glimpses of things no one else can see: ancient machines beneath the ruins, the truths inside monsters, and echoes of his missing sister, Yui.
The earth is ruled by Hollow Beasts—creatures that were once human, now twisted by grief, rage, and corrupted magic. Society has fractured into nomad clans, warlords, and "Shards"—mages who bend reality with song, light, or blood. Kairo is none of those things. He is Ashborn—marked by the fall, cursed by the world’s ending, and hunted for what lives in his veins.
But when he intercepts a distorted radio signal bearing Yui’s voice, everything changes. She’s alive. Imprisoned beneath the bones of the world. And Kairo will burn every Hollow, break every Shard, and shatter every old god’s chain to reach her.
